A leader in embryo transfer since 1979, David Blackmore is responsible for the importation of approximately 80% of Wagyu genetics into Australia. David Blackmore not only produces embryos best suited to Australian grazing conditions, but also focuses on improving all 12 Japanese traits needed to produce the finest Japanese Wagyu beef.
Blackmore Wagyu Beef is a combination of the three most famous breeding strains - Tajima from Hyogo Prefecture, Itozakura from Shimane Prefecture, and Kedaka from Tottori Prefecture - in Japan. Embyros produced at Blackmore Wagyu Beef have be derived from the following famous Japanese Wagyu bulls.
The followng bulls were all born in Japan with semen imported to Australia. They have made up the basis of the Blackmore Wagyu Beef breeding programme. The breeding programme is based around a three way cross to produce breeding females (Itozakura (147), Tajima Kumanami (148) and 50% Itozakura 50% Tajima (151)). A terminal sire is then introduced to produce the great Blackmore Wagyu Beef carcasses.
